Garden Fest 2026 is coming your way on Saturday, April 4 at the Laman Library! Celebrate our natural world with activities, lectures, and hands-on fun from 10am to 2pm.
Our busy bees have been hard at work planning all sorts of fun for explorers and naturalists of all ages, and we can't wait to share it with you.

Garden Fest is for Everyone!
Garden Fest has something for everyone, some come find your fun!
- Start your day with a Poetry Walk in the Laman Plaza at 9am!
- Explore the library as you look for fairies for our Scavenger Hunt!
- Head to our Plant Swap and bring new life to your garden!
- Learn about foraging, beekeeping, birding, and more at our Laman Gallery Lecture series!
- Have fun with flowers through dried flower papermaking and flower arranging!
- Make your mark on the library at our Community Mural!

It’s a sustainable storytime! Get into recycling with this environmentally friendly reading hour!

No kidding - it's a library petting zoo! Our farmyard friends will join us for Garden Fest to make 2026 the greatest of all time.

Welcome, Rover and the Mobile Makerspace!
You've seen them in your neighborhood, now meet them at Garden Fest!
From 10am to 2pm, hop aboard our mobile library branch, Rover, and make a Chia Pet while supplies last!
At 11am, come to the Children's department and learn the fun (and messy!) process of papermaking with beautiful dried flowers with our Mobile Makerspace crew.

Come chirp about birds! Thanks to our friends at Wild Birds Unlimited for this special lecture about spring migration.

Grow Your Groceries: Microgreens! 11am in the Gallery
Learn about low-mess and low-stress home gardening with Derek Reed from the U of A Extension Office!

Intro to Beekeeping! 12pm in the Gallery
What's all the buzz about mindfulness? Connect with yourself and bee-come friends with local bees and beekeepers from Calm+Confidence.
Ages 13 and up.
Flower Arranging! 12pm in the Loft
Award-winning florists from North Hills Florist and Gifts will share their tips and tricks at this hands-on workshop.
Limited to first 12 attendees, ages 18 and up.
Foraging: From Forest to Garden! 1pm in the Gallery
Meet RaeLi of Plantarchy and earn practical tips to incorporate foraging and conservation into your everyday life!

Yard Maintenance with Mr. Fix-It!
Meet everyone's favorite handyman, Kendell! After retiring from the fire department, Kendell now keeps his home (and our libraries) in ship-shape.
Learn all about summer yard maintenance at his hands-on workshop in the parking lot at Garden Fest!
