Art, Culture, & Connection: On Display at Your Library

The North Little Rock Public Library System is home to two art galleries, showcasing painters, sculptors, fiber artists, and more. Check out Laman Library's current display on the second floor, and check the calendar for the next after-hours opening reception. Stop by Argenta Library's gallery on the first floor, and stop by during Third Friday Art Walk to explore their new exhibit every month.

Visit the Galleries whenever the library is open, except when a new show is being installed.

"The Art of Friendship" by Kim Perkins and Laura Powers

Kim Perkins and Laura Powers first met in Junior high over 50 years ago. Kim was the quiet, unassuming daredevil; Laura, the dependable rule-follower. On paper, an unlikely pair-but their bond, sparked by creativity and sustained by laughter, has only deepened with time. Today, both are award-winning artists and signature members of Mid-Southern Watercolorists.

The Art of Friendship is more than a title. It is a celebration of shared history, artistic evolution, and the joy of growing older without ever quite growing up.This exhibition reflects two artists whose friendship remains as vibrant, enduring, and surprising as their work. We invite you to celebrate the art, the stories, and the laughter behind it all.

Join us for a monthly celebration of local art and culture in the Argenta Art District! Every third Friday, tour downtown Argenta and explore local businesses and their featured artists. Come to Argenta Library for free snacks and drinks, plus the debut of this month's show!
