Craft a fairy wand, solve a murder mystery, add to a community mural, jam out at a silent disco, play in a video game tournament, and so much more! We have something for every age and taste, so we hope to see you there.

Fantasy - Children's Department
Start your day with a fantasy-themed storytime, then stop by all day to craft a felt fairy wand.
Comics and Games - The Lift
A wild craft appears! Stop by the Lift all day for a different Pokemon-themed activity or craft every hour.
Family-Friendly Horror - Rover
Hop aboard our boooooookmobile and brave some all-ages spooks and scares!
Quiet(er) Places at the Con
The hustle and bustle of cons can be overwhelming, so stop by these two places for a little more calm.
Explore Nonfiction and Creativity in the Loft
The Loft is our designated quiet space during Laman Con. Come up to the mezzanine (accessible in the Children's Department) and dive into a creative project. Create your own DIY blackout poetry or a personalized zine with our supplies.
Craft and Groove in the Gallery
Join our vinyl listening session with music-themed activities from 10am-12pm and 1pm-2pm. We'll take a break for a Silent Disco at noon, so you can explore the rest of the con or get your groove on!

So do we! Here's how you can get your hands on some Laman Con memorabilia.
Come to the Con right at 10am - the first 50 people (limited 1 per group) who come to the Welcome Table can pick up a bandana with the logo!
Arriving later? Head to the Makerspace from 1pm to 2pm to have the logo screen printed! This is a BYO activity, so bring a clean cotton t-shirt, bag, or bandana that has space for a 7" by 8" design. Limited to 1 per person.

Video Game Tournament, 11am-1pm, 11+
Newbies and experts welcome at our Fortnite tournament! New friends (and new rivals) await, with prizes for our winners.
Archery Basics, 12pm, 11+
Learn the basics of archery and practice with a real bow! Thanks to Rick Fields from Arkansas Game and Fish for teaching.
Green Screen Photos, All Day, All Ages
Enter a new world in our photo booth - come in costume and take photos in front of fantastical backgrounds!
Wanted: Scavenger Hunters!
Doors have opened all over the library, and we need your help! Start your quest in the Western area by picking up your quest sheet and key ring. Explore the library, complete the quest sheets, and collect keys and other trinkets from each zone! While you explore, be sure to check out other events going on around the library.
All adventurers who complete the quest will be entered into a drawing for raffle prizes!

Albert Normalman has been murdered, and we need your help finding the culprit! Head to the Adult Collection and pick up your evidence folder. Explore the stacks to find helpful information (and red herrings!), then tell us who you believe committed this terrible crime.
Complete the mystery and get a Laman Con-exclusive button with your favorite suspect!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to pay money to attend Laman Con?
Nope! Like all library programs, Laman Con is completely free. The only place you'll need your bag of coins is at our vendor area in the Rotunda where you can support local small businesses!
Is Laman Con only for kids and families?
No! While some activities are most appropriate for young attendees, there are fun activities for every age. Adventurers young and old can join the fun - just leave any animal familiars at home today.
What can I wear to Laman Con?
Cosplays are welcome! Here are some general guidelines.
- No weapons, real or fake
- All attendees must wear shoes.
- Costumes must provide adequate body coverage.
Staff reserves the right to ask anyone to change to align with library policies.
