Free Prom Dresses for Arkansas Teens: Laman Library’s Prom Shop Returns This Spring

Spring means prom season, and for many teens that also means searching for the perfect dress. The William F. Laman Public Library is making that search easier and more affordable with its Prom Shop, a special event where Arkansas teens can browse more than 300 free formal dresses and take home the one they love.

The North Little Rock Public Library System continues its 2026 Digging Up the Past Challenge with February’s theme: Stories of Black Americans.
This month, we invite readers and viewers to explore narratives that highlight Black history, African American culture, resilience, achievement, and joy through books and films. Whether you choose historical nonfiction, contemporary fiction, memoir, biography, essays, or film, February’s challenge offers an opportunity to deepen understanding and celebrate powerful storytelling.

Donate Formalwear for a Free Prom Shop at Laman Library in North Little Rock Cleaning out your closet this winter? Your gently used formalwear can make a meaningful difference for local teens in North Little Rock. Laman Loft at the William F. Laman Library is now accepting donations of prom dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories for our Free Prom Shop, taking place April 10 and 11 and April 13 and 14. This annual event helps ensure that every teen has access to formalwear for prom, regardless of financial circumstances.
